What you bring to the team
we're already running a startup for more than 4 years and we're currently building a new venture and looking for the right tech expert who'd like to lead the product and tech part of it.
That's why we're looking for a real genius related to printer & scanner integration into our existing environment. Here are some more details:
- You like to work with hardware (you don’t have to be an embedded engineer though)
- Our tech stack
- Selfcheckout terminal with Boca wristband printer and barcode scanner
- Hardware device like you probably know it from McDonald’s
- Intel PC which runs a lightweight Balena Linux image to host docker containers for different services (payment, printer…)
- New services need to be implemented for the Boca wristband printer and for the barcode scanner
- A manager service (Docker container as well) calls the API of the `boca_wristband_printer_service` (e.g.) to print a wristband → that’s also part of the job
- TSC wristband printer with Raspberry
- Raspberry with a lightweight Balena Linux image to host docker containers
- New service needs to be implemented to poll data from a printer queue in the cloud every few seconds to check if new printing jobs are available
- If new printing jobs are available, the Raspberry should print through the TSC wristband printer
- Driver for the TSC printer for Raspberry is there already
- Technology implementing the different services should be preferrably TypeScript; if a different technology is necessary due to driver restrictions or so, that’s also fine.
If you're keen to work with us, feel free to drop us a line. Can't wait to hear from you.
Cheers 🤙🏽
Requirements
What awaits you
- Integrating a Boca wristband printer into the existing software ecosystem of our Selfcheckout terminal (you just need to take care of the software part!)
- Integrating a Posiflex barcode scanner into the existing software ecosystem of our Selfcheckout terminal (again just the software part!)
- Integrating a TSC wristband printer with a Raspberry Pi which should poll data from a printer queue in the cloud via an API and print data if there is data
- You 're going to lead the product vision longterm
