What we offer
Exciting new microscopy technology with the potential to substantially help in solving basic research questions (mainly about membrane proteins, the main targets of todays drugs), and for medical applications, i.e. personalised medicine for cancer therapies and other diseases. The company should start by offering measurement services, selling do-it-yourself kits, consultancy, training, and feasibility studies. At a later stage we would search the collaboration with an electron microscope manufacturer (first contacts are already established) to develop and build dedicated electron microscopes for liquid-phase EM.
Target group
Researchers working on membrane proteins, development groups in the pharmaceutical industry, working on targeted therapeutics, pathologists.
Challenges
Pioneering liquid-phase electron microscopy and promoting its more wide spread use in an often conservative community of potential users/clients, means overcoming reservation and skepticism. Therefore, it is needed to reach out to scientists not familiar with electron microscopy, and demonstrate its advantages and ease of use. For industrial application in the development departments of the pharmaceutical industry an excellent knowledge of the field is required.
